2021 Child Tax Credit Eligibility
An estimated 140,000 Philadelphia households are eligible for the full expanded 2021 Child Tax Credit monthly payments, with the highest concentration in the Northeast. Almost 1 in 10 eligible households do not have Internet access at home and 8.5% do not include any people who say they speak English very well, which has implications for information campaign strategy.

New Construction in PHL, 1970-1990
Philadelphia has a tumultuous and contentious history of urban renewal and gentrification, particularly during the 1960s. Government policy and efforts to combat white flight prompted new construction and the removal of older buildings in various parts of the city, raising property values and changing the neighborhoods significantly. However, these changes did not end when the 60s did. In the 1970s and 1980s, the median age of structures shifted considerably in concentrated sections of the city such as Center City, Roxborough, and parts of the Northeast. This indicates new construction, demolition of older buildings, or both. On the other hand, construction and demolition was not widespread enough to shift the median construction year of structures in Kensington and parts of North and West, where there was no change in this metric either between 1970 and 1980 or between 1980 and 1990. While the building turnover continued past the urban renewal heyday, this was not evenly distributed among all neighborhoods and areas of the city.
Spin Class Pricing and Family Incomes
SoulCycle is a boutique spin class brand that prices its classes differently depending on location. I geocoded the 91 US studio locations and mapped them against census data showing the ratio of family income to poverty level. I found that SoulCycle studios were more likely to be located in areas where over 15% of families make more than five times the federal poverty level, with less expensive classes available in areas with a lower concentration of wealthy families.
